Check mark is one of the symbols emoji, alongside ⚕️ ♻️ ⚜️ 🔱 📛 and 16 more in the same family.

History & Platforms

Check mark was added in 2010 as part of Unicode 6.0. It has artwork in Twemoji, Google's Noto, Microsoft's Fluent, OpenMoji. Apple, Samsung and WhatsApp draw it in their own styles, which is why the same emoji can look a little different from phone to phone.
