The short version: Snagmoji doesn't know who you are and doesn't want to.

What stays on your device

Your favorites, recent copies, tray, your own most-used list, theme, sound and size settings are stored in your browser's local storage. They never leave your device. Clearing your browser data erases them.

The site is installable and works offline. That's a service worker caching pages in your browser, nothing more.

Text you paste into the tools is processed by code running in your browser and is never sent or saved. The PII scrubber goes further: it lives on its own sealed page with no analytics, and its security policy makes your browser refuse every network request from that page, so nothing you paste there can leave your device. The page tests that seal in your browser when you arrive.

What we don't do

  • No cookies.
  • Nothing that identifies you or follows you to other sites.
  • No accounts, sign-ups or email collection.
  • Minimal ads, and none that track you. Any ad here is a plain image with a link, nothing more.

The Most Popular counter

The ⭐ Popular window shows the twelve most-copied emoji, kaomoji, symbols and fancy-text styles across everyone, all time (when fewer than twelve emoji have been counted, the row is filled out with Snagmoji's own most-used list, shown without a count). To make that list, when you copy one of them your browser sends the counter one fact: which one it was. That is the entire message. The counter adds one to that item's total for the day.

  • No IP address, browser details or time of day are stored — just the item and a count per day.
  • No cookie and no identifier of any kind, so two copies can never be connected to the same person, by us or anyone else.
  • Only items from Snagmoji's own catalogue are accepted; anything else is thrown away unread. Nothing you type or paste is ever sent.

Untick to keep your copies out of the Everyone list. The choice is remembered in this browser, and the same switch is in the Popular window. Your own most-used list keeps working either way, since it never leaves your device.

Third parties that may see your IP address

  • Cloudflare hosts the site and runs the Most Popular counter. Like any web host, it sees requests and keeps standard server logs.
  • Fathom counts visits. Each page load tells it the page's address (without anything after a ?), the site that linked you here and how long you stayed. It sets no cookies and never reads what you type; Fathom states that it doesn't store IP addresses. It isn't loaded on the sealed scrubber page.
  • Google Analytics counts visits too, set up without cookies: it is told not to store anything in your browser, so it cannot recognise you on your next visit and every page load looks like a new visitor to it. Each page load tells it the page's address, the site that linked you here, your browser and device type, and a rough location worked out from your connection; Google states that it doesn't log or store IP addresses in Analytics. Google's own privacy policy applies to what it receives. It isn't loaded on the sealed scrubber page either.
  • Iconify serves the Twemoji, Noto, Fluent and OpenMoji artwork. Those images are only requested when you pick one of those styles; the default "Your device" style loads nothing external.

Nothing else is loaded from anywhere else. Fonts are self-hosted.
