What Fingerprint Means
People reach for ๐ซ when they mean clue, crime, detective, forensics, identity and similar ideas. Searching Snagmoji for any of those words finds it.
Fingerprint is one of the people & body emoji, alongside ๐ฃ๏ธ ๐ค ๐ฅ ๐ซ ๐ช and 5 more in the same family.
History & Platforms
Fingerprint was added in 2024 as part of Emoji 16.0. It has artwork in Twemoji, Google's Noto, OpenMoji, but not yet in Microsoft's Fluent. Apple, Samsung and WhatsApp draw it in their own styles, which is why the same emoji can look a little different from phone to phone.
Under the hood ๐ซ is the single code point U+1FAC6, and on GitHub, Slack and most chat apps you can type it as :fingerprint:.
