What Lemon Means
People reach for ๐ when they mean citrus, fruit, sour. Searching Snagmoji for any of those words finds it.
Lemon is one of the food & drink emoji, alongside ๐ ๐ ๐ ๐ ๐โ๐ฉ and 14 more in the same family.
History & Platforms
Lemon was added in 2015 as part of Emoji 1.0. It has artwork in Twemoji, Google's Noto, Microsoft's Fluent, OpenMoji. Apple, Samsung and WhatsApp draw it in their own styles, which is why the same emoji can look a little different from phone to phone.
Under the hood ๐ is the single code point U+1F34B, and on GitHub, Slack and most chat apps you can type it as :lemon:.
